PRESS RELEASE

NOVEMBER 1, 2023

TO ALL PRESS HOUSES

Dearly beloved citizens of Ghana,

CCG STANDS WITH THE CHURCH OF PENTECOST

We bring you greetings from the Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

The attention of the leadership of the CCG was drawn to an armed robbery incident at the Johannesburg branch of the Church of Pentecost on October 29, 2023 during church service.

The videos in the media space confirm that the members of the church were robbed of their valuables at gun point. Reliable information reaching us also indicates that a deacon of the church was kidnapped by the robbers and has since not been released.

Leadership of CCG wishes to indicate our unwavering support to the leadership and entire membership of the Church of Pentecost worldwide.

We pray for strength for the leaders and entire church, especially the family members of the deacon who was kidnapped.

We further entreat the Government of the Republic of Ghana to liaise with the South African authorities to get the Deacon released and to bring the perpetrators to book.

We also call on all CCG member churches and all Ghanaians to join the Church of Pentecost on the final day (November 2, 2023) of their 3-day fasting and prayer to seek God’s intervention for the safe and speedy release of the deacon.

May God give us peace within our borders (Ps. 147:14).

Signed
