For Immediate Release

CHRISTIAN COUNCIL OF GHANA EXTENDS WELL WISHES TO THE GLOBAL MUSLIM COMMUNITY ON THE OCCASION OF THIS YEAR’S EID-UL-ADHA CELEBRATIONS

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) extends the blessings of Allah to all our Muslim Brothers and Sisters across the world on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-adha celebrations. Coming after the annual pilgrimage to the Holy City of Mecca, Eid ul-Adha honours the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to Allah’s command. Before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, however, Allah provided a lamb to sacrifice instead.

CCG hopes that the faith exhibited by Ibrahim that attracted Allah’s blessings and providence will be emulated by all our muslim brothers and sisters. May this faith inspire the Islamic Community in Ghana and the rest of the world to faithfully continue to implore Allah’s providential care in matters of peace, harmony and social justice. Let this faith of Ibrahim, inspire us to be steadfast in our efforts at working harmoniously to foster neighbourliness, mutual respect and unity around the many things that unite us; whilst working to eliminate all forms of divisiveness and rancour that threaten our harmonious coexistence.

On this occasion of Eid-ul-adha, may the blessings of Allah rekindle our interfaith engagements to create a more peaceful and prosperous society for all.

Signed

Rev. Dr. Cyril Fayose

(General Secretary)
